SNIB Scout for iOS Terms

Terms for authorized use of the public SNIB Scout for iOS App Store release, an independently developed West Coast Security software product.

Acceptance

These terms apply when you download, install, sign in to, purchase, subscribe to, or use SNIB Scout for iOS. By using the app, you agree to these terms and the SNIB Scout for iOS Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

App Store access and license

SNIB Scout for iOS is offered as a public App Store release. Subject to these terms and applicable Apple terms, WCS grants you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to install and use the app on compatible Apple devices that you own or control.

The app is licensed, not sold. Do not share credentials or activation information, distribute installation packages outside authorized App Store channels, or allow another person to use your WCS account.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions made through the App Store are billed and managed by Apple under the terms shown before purchase. Pricing, subscription period, renewal, refunds, and payment methods are controlled through your Apple account and applicable Apple policies.

Deleting your WCS account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel an Apple subscription separately at Apple subscriptions.

Authorized professional use

Use SNIB Scout only on systems, boards, devices, credentials, and networks that you own, administer, or are expressly authorized to support. You are responsible for customer approval, applicable laws and policies, appropriate backups, and verification before production changes.

You must confirm board identity, network addressing, intended changes, production impact, and rollback readiness before applying an authorized operation to a SNIB2 or SNIB3 board.

Prohibited use

You may not use the software to access an unauthorized system, bypass security controls, interfere with a network or device, obtain credentials without permission, or conduct unlawful surveillance or security testing.

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, publish, or make the app or your account access available to another person. Except where applicable law expressly permits it, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, defeat licensing or access controls, or create a competing derivative from the app.

Ownership and third-party systems

SNIB Scout for iOS is independently developed and owned by West Coast Security, Inc. These terms grant only the limited right to use the app described above; WCS retains all other rights.

Names of third-party products or systems identify compatibility and authorized workflows. They do not transfer ownership of WCS software or imply sponsorship, endorsement, or ownership of SNIB Scout by another manufacturer.

Product feedback

You may provide comments, issue reports, and suggestions. Do not include customer-confidential information, credentials, or personal information unless you are authorized to disclose it and WCS has requested it for support.

You permit WCS to use feedback about the app to evaluate and improve its products without an obligation to implement a suggestion or compensate you for it.

Operational risk and backups

Software may contain defects, change through updates, or behave differently across devices, adapters, operating-system versions, and network configurations. Do not rely on the app as the only means of discovering, documenting, configuring, recovering, or controlling a production system.

Maintain current backups, use approved change procedures, verify changes independently, and preserve an appropriate rollback method. Stop using the app if continuing could affect safety, security, service availability, or customer operations.

Accounts and termination

You are responsible for protecting your device, email account, and WCS credentials. Notify WCS if you believe app access or credentials have been compromised.

WCS may suspend or terminate account access for security, misuse, loss of authorization, nonpayment where applicable, or violation of these terms. You may stop using the app and request WCS account deletion through the direct account-deletion page. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Privacy

The SNIB Scout for iOS Privacy Policy describes information handled by the app and related WCS services, local-network processing, optional support information, retention, security, and deletion choices.

Warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app and related services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free performance.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WCS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, profits, business, or service availability arising from use of the app or related services.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Governing terms and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

WCS may update these terms as the app or related services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes may be posted here, communicated in the app, or sent by email when appropriate.
