1.1.26 Release Notes
- Future app update checks now use the permanent WCS release manifest at /downloads/video-evidence-processor/version.json.
- Refreshed the production MSI, checksum, size, and download metadata for this permanent WCS release page.
- Saved agency profiles default automatically on app launch when starting a new case.
- Moved license and demo state to C:\ProgramData\WCS\VEP while preserving existing Documents-based license/trial compatibility.
- Activation now uses a copy/save email request workflow for TechServices@wcsecurity.com and automatically includes machine ID and Windows computer name.
- Added licensed-only in-app feedback, bug report, feature request, and question submission from About / Licensing.
- Added feedback reporting to the WCS software download admin view alongside downloads and known requested/licensed machines.
- Installer now creates the ProgramData state folder and continues to install under C:\Program Files\WCS\VEP with Start Menu and Desktop shortcuts.
- Bundled FFmpeg, FFprobe, and VLC fallback playback support remain included; unused ffplay.exe remains excluded.
For security and licensing review, WCS logs download attempts, including the server-observed IP address, request time, referrer, and browser/device details that the browser provides. Public websites cannot read your Windows computer name unless software on the computer sends it.
