Website and software download privacy.

Scope

This notice applies to WCS software download requests, limited download links, licensed update requests, license and support requests, and related activity on wcsecurity.com.

The separate SNIB Scout for Android Privacy Policy remains the policy used for that app and its Google Play listing.

Information submitted by you

• Name, email address, organization, optional phone number, and intended-use information entered on a request form.
• License, activation, device, workstation, order, or support information that you intentionally submit through a WCS application or support request.
• Messages, attachments, screenshots, diagnostic exports, or other information you choose to provide for support.

Service and security records

For security, licensing, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention, WCS may record the product requested, request and download time, server-observed IP address, referrer, browser or app details supplied by the client, response status, issued-link status, download count, file version, and related request or license metadata.

A public website does not receive a Windows computer name unless installed software or the user intentionally supplies it.

How the information is used

• Issue and limit current software download links.
• Operate trials, licensing, subscriptions, updates, and customer support.
• Confirm release integrity and investigate failed or suspicious requests.
• Prevent automated scraping, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized distribution.
• Maintain operational, accounting, tax, dispute, and security records where required.

Sharing and retention

WCS does not sell software-download request information for third-party advertising. Information may be processed by providers used for hosting, email, payment, security, and support, or disclosed when required by law or needed to protect WCS, its customers, or its systems.

Records are retained for as long as reasonably needed for software delivery, licensing, support, security, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations, and dispute resolution.
