Privacy Policy

Who we are

SNIB Scout for Android and the SNIB Scout for iOS private preview are provided by West Coast Security, Inc., also referred to here as WCS, we, or us. This policy applies to those mobile products and the WCS account, licensing, subscription, support, and website services used with them.

Information we collect

• Account information: your display name, email address, authentication information, and account status.
• Device and app information: an app-generated activation identifier, device manufacturer and model, mobile operating system, app package or bundle identifier, app version, registered devices, session status, and license validation results.
• Subscription and transaction information: product, plan, subscription status, payment status, purchase identifiers, and related customer-service records. Google Play or Stripe processes payment credentials; WCS does not receive your full card number.
• Support information: messages, optional diagnostic exports, presets, screenshots, or other information you choose to send to WCS for support.
• Service and security logs: IP address, request time, browser or app details, response status, and records used to protect accounts and services from abuse.

Local network information

SNIB Scout mobile products discover and work with authorized SNIB2 and SNIB3 boards on networks you select. Board addresses, identifiers, types, status, and configuration values are processed on your mobile device to provide discovery, review, and programming functions.

The app does not send discovered SNIB board data to WCS as part of normal operation. That information reaches WCS only if you intentionally include it in a support message or diagnostic export. The current app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or advertising permissions and does not include an advertising or behavioral analytics SDK.

SNIB Scout for iOS private preview

SNIB Scout for iOS is currently in Private Preview Mode. It is not publicly offered for purchase or download and does not have a public App Store listing. Preview access, when provided, is limited to invited evaluators.

This policy applies to information handled by WCS in connection with the iOS private preview, including the account, device registration, entitlement, support, security-log, and optional diagnostic information described on this page. SNIB board information used during normal operation remains on the mobile device unless an evaluator intentionally sends it to WCS for support.

If a future public iOS release introduces materially different permissions, data collection, service providers, payment handling, or distribution channels, WCS will update this policy before that release becomes publicly available.

How we use information

• Provide account sign-in, device registration, licensing, trial, subscription, and entitlement validation.
• Operate SNIB discovery and programming features on your device.
• Process purchases, maintain transaction records, and provide customer support.
• Deliver security notices, account messages, product updates, and service communications.
• Detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, service failures, and threats to WCS systems or customers.
• Meet accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory obligations.

Sharing and service providers

WCS does not sell personal information and does not use SNIB Scout mobile-product data for third-party advertising. We share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate the products, such as Google Play for Play-distributed Android purchases, Stripe for direct WCS subscriptions, and providers used for hosting, email, security, and customer support. The iOS private preview is not currently offered for purchase.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or WCS systems, to investigate fraud or misuse, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate protections.

Security

WCS uses HTTPS, access controls, protected server configuration, operational logging, and mobile operating-system security controls to safeguard account and licensing services. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so customers and preview evaluators should also protect their email account, mobile device, and WCS password.

Retention and account deletion

Account, device, session, entitlement, and validation information is kept while needed to provide the app and support the customer relationship. You can submit a verified deletion request at wcsecurity.com/account-deletion.html. WCS aims to complete verified requests within 30 days.

Deletion removes the mobile account and associated app data under WCS control, subject to records we must retain for payment, tax, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or other legal obligations. Google and Stripe may retain information under their own policies. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription; subscriptions must also be canceled through the applicable purchase channel. The iOS private preview does not currently include a paid subscription.

Children

SNIB Scout mobile products are professional field tools and are not directed to children under 13. WCS does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the apps.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page and may also be communicated in the app or by email when appropriate.
