Proxmark Card Lab

A WCS desktop lab tool for authorized security technicians working with clients for card technology identification, documentation, encoding, and reporting workflows.

Version 0.1.7 is available for authorized WCS technician lab workflows. This release adds code variants, reader/site profiles, encrypted client/site format profiles, and clearer tested-versus-untested helper labeling while keeping the existing candidate handling, reporting, licensing, update checks, and vault workflow improvements.

Technician bench workflow

Use Proxmark Card Lab to select a Proxmark3 port, confirm the bundled Proxmark root, flash reader firmware when needed, run LF/HF scan paths, and retain raw output for engineering review.

The app is intended for authorized WCS service and customer-approved lab work only.

Read and identify

0.1.7 Build Scope

  1. Adds WCS signed-license validation with a 2-day demo period before licensing is required.
  2. Moves registration and license management into Help > Register / License, with required name, email, and company / organization fields for license requests.
  3. Adds Help > Check for Updates plus automatic startup update checks against the Proxmark Card Lab version manifest. Startup checks stay quiet unless a newer version is available.
  4. Confirms update checks use the permanent Proxmark Card Lab manifest at https://www.wcsecurity.com/downloads/proxmark-card-lab/version.json.
  5. Adds Code Variants for H10301 match-code data, raw/UID reference conversions, and clearly labeled untested helper values.
  6. Adds Reader / Site Profile guidance for common reader behaviors, Velocity format notes, and saved client/site context.
  7. Adds encrypted client/site format profile storage under %ProgramData%\WCS\Proxmark Card Lab.
  8. Adds a Site Profiles tab for reviewing saved client/site reader-format profiles.
  9. Labels non-H10301 Wiegand helper calculations as untested helpers so technicians do not confuse candidate math with proven enrollment data.
  10. Bundles the Proxmark3 client, runtime files, and firmware images.
  11. Supports LF scan, HF scan, and combined Scan All while preserving multi-technology credential results.
  12. Stores separate LF candidate rows when one raw trace has multiple valid interpretations, including HID H10301, Indala 26-bit, Indala 27-bit, Indala ASC 27-bit, and Tecom 27-bit.
  13. Default auto-add saves likely primary candidates only; alternate LF interpretations remain available in the scan session for deliberate Include alternates or Add All Candidates actions.
  14. Adds scan sessions with LF/HF counts, primary format, alternate count, and recommended next step.
  15. Adds confidence, review-status, candidate-role, and action-badge columns so false-positive interpretations are clearly marked.
  16. Prevents LF HID facility/card values from bleeding into the HF search section, avoiding fake HF HID rows when no supported 13.56 MHz tag is found.
  17. Ignores HF search probe lines for recognition so unsupported/no-response HF searches are not stored as blank 13.56 MHz credentials.
  18. Adds visible Auto-add scans, Include alternates, Add Latest, and Add All Candidates controls to the Card List toolbar.
  19. Adds adjustable Card List / Proxmark Output pane sizing plus a Hide Output / Show Output toggle.
  20. Adds Clone Vault separation; clone/emulate actions require the record to be vaulted and HID raw capable.
  21. Replaces the Clone Vault toolbar authorization checkbox with a direct Yes/No confirmation after Clone Selected or Emulate Selected is clicked.
  22. Makes Clone Selected and Emulate Selected visually consistent action buttons, with clearer disabled button styling.
  23. Adds selected-format knowledge guidance plus a guided Identify Unknown workflow when a recommended follow-up profile is clear.
  24. Adds a device health line showing client/setup/firmware/flash readiness, COM port count, and last command health.
  25. Stores the card list as DPAPI-encrypted JSON under %ProgramData%\WCS\Proxmark Card Lab; old plaintext card-list JSON migrates on save.
  26. Adds PDF client/engineering report export alongside Excel export, and keeps exports available from saved data when no Proxmark reader is attached.
  27. Marks decoded card rows successful when credential data was recovered, even if the Proxmark helper exits with a trailing shell warning after the decode.
  28. Window title and device header show the running app version so stale builds are easier to identify during field testing.
  29. Adds targeted HF lab profiles for MIFARE Classic 1K, MIFARE DESFire, HID iCLASS, NTAG / MIFARE Ultralight, ISO 14443-A, ISO 14443-B, and ISO 15693.
  30. Stores detected card details such as frequency, format, manufacturer, chip, UID, raw data, facility code, card number, and match code when available.
  31. Stores card records locally for review, cloning, emulation, notes, authorized lab actions, and Excel export.
  32. Supports LF HID stored-card cloning and timed LF HID raw emulation.
  33. Adds Identiv FIDO / U2F security key recognition to the credential-format catalog.
  34. Includes a guarded advanced Proxmark command runner for authorized engineering workflows.
  35. Current beta build is unsigned; production release should be signed with the production WCS Authenticode certificate.

Authorized use only

Proxmark Card Lab is for WCS technicians and engineers working on systems they own, administer, or are explicitly authorized to service. Do not use this tool on credentials, sites, or systems without documented authorization from the customer or system owner.
